Is it just a coincidence that on the exact day Arthur Sulzberger admits that some time in the future, the NYT will have to give up its print edition – the NYT features a long article on how newspapers can be used successfully to fend off weeds?

I find it hard to imagine that New Yorkers have a lot of problems with weeds. Weed, maybe.

I guess the farther away someone is from actual greenery, the more likely it is that they will spend lots of time reading about shrubs & compost heaps. Cf. the rise of Jamie Oliver et al. in a time where most people can’t even be bothered to peel their own potatoes…
